Will The DNC Turn Even More to the Left? Part 4 Ray Buckley

I never thought I would say a politician who has been investigated for Child Pornography and is openly and proudly homosexual may be the best person to head the DNC. I do and I think more moderate Democrats may regret he dropped out of the race and threw his support behind Keith Ellison.

To be completely fair to Mr. Buckley, he was never charged with child pornography,  only accused and investigated. Below is an excerpt from what his accuser said in a press conference after the investigation:

The man who started this controversy, Steve Vaillancourt, attended the news conference -- taping it with a hand held video camera. He then led reporters across street, for a press conference of his own.
"I'm not sure where you'd like me to begin. I guess it's always good to quote those Dixie Chicks, 'I'm not ready to make nice, I'm not ready to back down.'"
Vaillancourt went on to reiterate the claims the prompted the investigation -- that Raymond Buckley possesed child pornography and made sexual remarks about prepubescent boys. Vaillancourt and offered to take a lie detector test, answer questions under hypnosis, or ingest truth serum to prove his point. He also invoked the OJ Simpson trial, saying investigators were completely incompetent.
"This investigation takes me back to when mark Furman found one glove behind Kato Kailen's house, and detective Vanatter was running around Los Angeles for 30 miles, with a vial of blood. Not since then, has an investigation been as botched as this one."
Vaillancourt added that he didn't fear a civil suit, because that would give him the chance to put witnesses under oath and prove what they told investigators was not true……He ended by saying that he wished he had reported Buckley to the police years ago, but said otherwise, he has no regrets.
"Don't worry about me, I have only been happier two other times in my life. Once when in my senior year of college I was extremely happy -- good times; when I fell in love I was extremely happy; and now. I think it's like a giant cloud has been lifted from my soul."

Mr. Buckley grew up in politics in an area much like Chicago as far as rough no holds barred politics. He not only survived that for years, he thrived in it. He is a fighter.

He also demonstrated the need for Democrats to get over the election and get to work correcting their mistakes from the 2016 campaign. As a Conservative that is the last thing I want to see!

With the news of Ray Buckley withdrawing from the race and throwing his support behind Keith Ellison it appears any hope of common sense leadership in the DNC is gone. Good news for Conservatives. Bad news for Moderate Democrats.

A little Biography from Wikipedia:

Raymond "Ray" Buckley (born 1959) is an American politician from the state of New Hampshire who currently serves as chair of the New Hampshire Democratic Party, President of the Association of State Democratic Chairs, and as a Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee. On December 21, 2016 he announced his candidacy to be Chair of the DNC.[1]
He is a member of the New Hampshire delegation to the Democratic National Committee,[2] and served as the chairman of the eastern region of the Democratic National Committee from 2001 to 2009.[3] He has also been director of the NH Democratic Senate Caucus,[4] and from 1998 to 2007 served as the City Democratic Chair for Manchester.[5] As of March 25, 2007 he is the state chair of the New Hampshire Democratic Party.[6] Buckley was reelected state chair in 2009, 2011, 2013, and 2015.
Buckley served 8 terms (1986–2004) as a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives where he represented southern Manchester, and served as Party Whip in that body.[7] He was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention from New Hampshire in 1988, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008.[8] He served as the vice chair of the New Hampshire Democratic Party from 1999 to March 2007, when he was elected as chair.

Raymond Buckley was born in Keene, New Hampshire in 1959, and is the eldest of nine siblings and half-siblings. His parents moved frequently to find work, and Raymond had attended a different school for each grade through the ninth. His parents divorced in 1972. By high school, his family had settled in Canterbury, where at the age of 14 he served as the town's Democratic Party Chair (due to his youth, his mother held the post officially). He planned to go to college upon graduating high school, but lacking the finances, he accepted a job offer to work for then State Democratic Chair Joanne Symons. He has been a professional politician ever since.[10]
Buckley is openly gay and faced opposition to his sexuality from his first election to the State House in 1986. Before that election, he helped found the New Hampshire Citizens Alliance for Gay and Lesbian Rights. Of his own sexuality, Buckley has said "You cannot make me straight, so get over it."[10]
