How I See God's Hand In the Election of Donald J. Trump

First in the interest of full disclosure I did not support nor vote for President Trump in the primary. My choice was Ted Cruz. President Trump would have been 14 or 15 on my list when the primary season started. Second no God didn't give me a vision nor come to me and say in a loud voice "Danny vote for Donald Trump." I never Prayed any candidate would be elected nor not be elected.

I said a simple prayer every day from the beginning of the primary season through the election in November, actually several times daily the following prayer:

Dear God, I ask that you give America not the President we deserve, but the one we need. One who will seek counsel from You and who will help turn this country around.

A plain, simple prayer from my heart. How could I pray for any particular candidate to when or lose and election? I certainly don't have the knowledge God has. Only God knows who would be best for our country at this point in history.

What I feel in my heart is there is no way President Trump could have been elected without the help of God. A huge majority of political experts, pollsters, and the media said it was impossible for him to win. Many Conservatives in the Republican Party said if he won the primary he could never defeat Secretary Clinton. I feared he couldn't, but I voted for him in the general election, and I supported him from the day Senator Cruz suspended his campaign. I just don't believe anyone without any political experience could handle all the stuff thrown at him from every segment listed above yet still win the Presidency without God's Will and involvement.

Scripture also tells me God had a hand in this election:

Romans 13New International Version

Submission to governing authorities

Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.
This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. Give to everyone what you owe them: if you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honour, then honour.
My opinion, and I believe it can be backed up in Scripture is that God chose Donald J. Trump. We as Christians should come together, get behind him and pray for his discernment. We should also pray for the safety of him and his family.
I understand there are other Pastors who will disagree with me. Other Christians who will. In my heart and the heart of many Pastors who are my friends, I truly believe God chose President Trump.
