Is It Time for a Compromise?

Like many of you I imagine I have been watching the events on TV regarding Guadalupe Garcia de Rayos, the Mother of two from Phoenix who has been in our country illegally for 22 years. She is married to an American citizen and both of her children were born here.

Mrs. de Rayos's case is exactly what the Liberals have been desperate for. A sympathetic Illegal Immigrant whose case is a perfect made for TV movie. A case that will tug at the hearts of many American citizens, no matter their political beliefs. Make no mistake, Conservatives are at risk due to this case. I have seen too many of my fellow Conservatives celebrating the deportation of Mrs. de Rayos. From a moral standpoint, why would you celebrate a family being separated? I'm not saying whether she should have been deported or not. I'm saying celebrating it on social media does nothing but push people to the other side.

Another thing to note. The majority of the MSM hates President Trump. They hate Conservatism. They have and will continue to attempt to destroy President Trump and Conservatism every chance they get. You can bet after the videos and the story of Mrs. de Rayos hit the front page of every major newspaper. The lead story on every network news program, there will be reporters scouring the country for stories just like this one.

Mrs. de Rayos is an activist herself. Look at her own words:
"The truth is I was there [in the United States] for my children. For a better future. To work for them. And I don't regret it, because I did it for love," she said in a news conference Thursday night from Nogales, Mexico.
"I'm going to keep fighting so that they continue to study in their country, and so that their dreams become a reality."
"I don't regret it, because I know I did this so that more families could see what's in store, what could happen, and so that they could know what they could risk," she in Thursday's news conference.
Trump is not harming the adults and the parents who get deported, but it's different for the children left behind in the United States, she said.
"I am not what he says. I simply am a mother who fights for her children, who fights to give them the best."

Garcia de Rayos, 36, was considered a “low priority” for deportation under the Obama administration and had to check in with ICE officials every six months following a 2008 conviction for felony identity theft for having false papers, The Los Angeles Times reported. This conviction complicates her case even more. As a convicted felon she was moved up on the priority list.

“Ms. Garcia de Rayos is currently being detained by ICE based on a removal order issued by the Department of Justice's Executive Office for Immigration Review which became final in May 2013,” and ICE statement read.

Conservatives have the Whitehouse, The Senate, and The House. It is time for Conservatives to come together and pass an Immigration Reform Law. Not Amnesty, we have been down the road before. It should however have a mechanism where people like Mrs. de Rayos can obtain a legal status. At the same time is extremely strong on border security, vetting, visa overstays, and illegals who have a history of specific criminal offenses.

If not, Conservatives will only keep their majority until 2018. The more the MSM plasters sympathetic figures like Mrs. de Rayo's all over the media, the greater the risk in 2018.
